Setting it up

1. connectConnect your Instagram Business or Creator account to AutomateDM.
2. triggerCreate a new automation and choose the story reply trigger.
3. messageWrite the DM — a thank-you, your current offer, or a question that starts a conversation. Buttons and media work here too.
4. publishPublish. Every story reply or reaction now gets your message, on every story you post.

What to actually send

• Match the message to the story's job. A product story sends the product link; a poll sends "great pick — here's 10% off"; a personal story sends a genuine thank-you.
• Ask one question back. "Which color are you leaning toward?" turns an auto-reply into a sale.
• Rotate offers between stories. Since the trigger runs on every story, keep the message evergreen or update it per drop.
• Don't stack it with a sales pitch on personal stories. The trigger can't tell context — if the story is a memorial or a joke, a discount code reads wrong. Keep two automations and toggle per story, or write a neutral thank-you.
